Infrared detector housings are essential for protecting both uncooled and cooled infrared focal plane detectors. There are two main types of infrared detector housings: metal wall-ceramic insulator and full ceramic.

Metal casing: This housing consists of a metal chassis, metal wall, ceramic components, and a copper exhaust pipe. The integration of the copper exhaust pipe within the casing ensures multiple leads and high reliability. The metal shell is typically designed in a butterfly structure.

Ceramic shell: This housing is predominantly made of LCC (Leadless Chip Carrier) and PGA (Pin Grid Array) types, with the option of including or excluding an oxygen-free copper exhaust pipe. It is characterized by multiple pins, the absence of a TEC (Thermoelectric Cooler) package, and cost-effectiveness.

Cooling-type infrared detector shell: This housing is composed of round ceramic parts and a metal ring, which can be connected to a Dewar cooler. It can withstand extremely low temperatures of up to -200°C, ensuring exceptional reliability.
